Heather L. Purdy has written and published collections of her emotion-stirring poems that may bring new insight to you as you read about her struggles and how she conquers seemingly unbeatable odds.  She has become an inspiring example of a follower of Jesus Christ.  Read how she is able to overcome her physical limitations to reach new heights through her faith in God!  The forward to her first book, “Open Eyes, Open Heart,” a collection of 93 poems, is shown below.

Hi, My name is Heather Purdy.

I'm 31 years old, and the mother of two beautiful kids, Stanley, 13, and Alyssa, 10.

On March 8, 2005 my life was turned upside-down. I had a brain aneurysm that erupted while I was driving with my children. I ran off the road and struck a tree. Stanley and Alyssa were unhurt, but I dislocated my neck and became a quadriplegic. Since then, I’ve had several strokes, numerous surgical operations, and years of physical therapy.  These poems are my way of sharing my pain, fears, suffering, and yes, my love of life, and my determination to walk again, strengthened by my faith in God.

I hope these poems help lift  the spirits and inspire everyone who reads them, especially those who also face pain and suffering in their life.

Heather

Heather’s second book, “The Heart Won’t Lie,”  is a collection of more than 100 inspirational poems, and also includes the words to two beautiful songs she has written “Oh Lord, I Sing to Thee” and “I Can, Because of You”.  The two songs, sung by a professional artist, will soon be available as a CD.
