At Appalachia Service Project (ASP), we believe that disaster recovery is about more than repairing homes; it’s about restoring dignity, safety, and hope. In this video, we invite you into the real story of what recovery looks like in our communities. You’ll see why rebuilding takes months and years, not just days, and why families here face unique challenges on the road back to long-term recovery.

Thoughts from the 2025 Conley's ASP Team
"Our team of 5 headed to Tennessee with the heartfelt purpose of helping to repair and rebuild after the devasting effects of severe flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. Our mission was about more than just construction though – it was an opportunity to share Christ’s love through service, compassion and community. We not only worked to rebuild a house but created a sense of home and hope to go with it." Barb
"The theme this year for the ASP teams was “Be the Light”. As we worked each day on “our house”, we got to know our owner, a Vietnam vet named JR. by the end of our week our light was shining bright in his heart and the love of Jesus had been shared, accepted and cherished. We each had been able to experience the love of God in a very real and profound way." Louise
"What I liked best about the trip was when I was putting up siding on the house. Plus talking with the homeowner was so fun, it was just so fun to help people in need." Hannah
"Our opportunity to share Christ through the week exploded as two Philipino women witnessed to us, ASP staff shared needs for healing, God’s favor in situations, desire for God’s leading in their life. Many relationships were built during the week. God uses His people, of all ages, to create a healthy and vibrant Christian community and we were blessed being a part of this ASP community of Christ seekers." David
"If you ever want to make a difference in your life or the life of another Appalachia Service Project is where you need to be next summer. Thank you to all who supported this mission in 2025, and we look forward to sharing God’s love in June 2026." Marie
