Below are some highlights of the ministries on our calendar.
Trunks for Treats
October 31st, 6-8pm
Conley’s will again host this family event in celebration of the harvest season. The church parking lot will be filled with festively decorated car trunks distributing treats to children. The event display featuring participant sign-up sheets and a place to drop off candy donations are in the narthex.
Operation Christmas Child
Preparing Gift Boxes NOW
With all the activities planned for the holiday season, this year we got an early start on our annual Christmas gift project. Boxes are no longer available in our narthex; however, if you missed the deadline, you can still participate online by clicking here. For more information visit the Operation Christmas Child website.
Monthly Prayer Service
4th Wednesday of the month, 6:30pm
Our monthly prayer service features directed contemplative prayer time to receive God's presence, present our praise to God, accept God's forgiveness, present our requests to God, and offer thanks. The service includes a time where participants may be anointed with oil and pray for healing. The service lasts about 45 minutes. All are welcome to come take part in this time of peace in the presence of our God. "The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).
Ladies' Support & Encouragement Group
2nd Monday of the month, 6:30pm
All ladies are invited to gather in the church library for a time of mutual edification. Led by certified Christion Counselor, Richelle Marvel, this is a time for sisters in the faith to follow God's instruction to "encourage one another and build each other up"
(1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Sunday Morning Bible Study:
Every Sunday at 8:30am in the Fellowship Hall
Our year-round class is an in-depth Bible study taught by Rev. Dr. Jim Vanderwall. Dr. Vanderwall earned his Masters and Doctoral degrees from Drew University, and served for many years as a pastor in the Peninsula-Delaware Conference.
In the fall , winter, and spring, we offer week-day classes at various times both in-person and online:
Fall Bible Classes:
The Faithful: Heroes of the Old Testament
Wednesdays at 6:30pm online
Led by Certified Lay Minister, Susan Davis, this study is based on the book featuring lessons from best-selling biblical teachers Priscilla Shirer, Lisa Harper, Beth Moore, Kelly Minter, and Jennifer Rothschild. Explore crucial moments in the lives of five Old Testament figures--Esther, Gideon, Malachi, Nehemiah, and Hosea--to discover how God uses the lives of ordinary people for God's glory and the good of God's people. Contact the church office to get log-in information if you would like to participate in the online sessions.
Lectionary Bible Study
Thursdays at 10:00am in the Missions Room
Led by Rev. Connie Paulson, this study examines the weekly lectionary readings from which the pastor preaches on Sunday. For more information contact Pastor Connie at 302-644-1615 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Youth & Family Night
The first Sunday of every month, 6-8pm
We are currently working to reorganize and restart this ministry for youth and families following it's suspension during the health crisis. This is a time for young people to have good, wholesome fun, make friends, and discuss issues that are facing their generation from a biblical perspective.
Conley's Youth Connection
Mondays when Sussex County Public Schools are in session
This ministry continued on a limited, online basis throughout the health crisis, and we are currently planning a new in-person format to be ready for the coming school year (fall '21). Visit our CYC page on this website for more details.
