We serve God
by serving others
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
~ Visitation - our visitation ministry is led by the Rev. Doug Harbaugh; volunteers share the love of Christ with those who are shut-in or hospitalized.
~ Meals - provide the gift of nourishment during recovery from illness or hospitalization, and following memorial services.
~ Health Clinics – healthcare professionals are encouraged to periodically provide blood pressure screening, respiratory clinics, AED/CPR training, flu shots, etc.
~ Medical Transportation – drive those in need to medical appointments or prescription pick-ups.
~ Office Help – answer the church phone during church administrator’s absence, help fold bulletins, assist with mailings, and other support as needed.
~ Newsletter - assist in coordinating and writing articles for the monthly newsletter.
~ Library Guild - help maintain the church library.
~ Clean-Up Days - participate in the spring and fall cleaning/repair project for our building and grounds.
~ Teach - with three adult education classes offered in the spring, fall, and winter, we are always looking for people who are called to share their knowledge for the good of others. Our ongoing Bible study is taught by the Rev. Dr. Jim Van Der Wall, but we also feature a topical study, and an elective determined by who the Spirit may lead to step up and share their particular area of expertise. Children's Sunday school is also an opportunity for those who have a heart for training our young ones in the Christian faith. And our CYC program offers free Bible classes and activities for public elementary school students.*
~ Nursery caregiver - we provide care for pre-school aged children during our Sunday morning services; volunteers are always welcomed.*
* Those who wish to care for children are required to go through our Safe Sanctuaries screening process which includes a background check.
God graciously invites us to share in the work of God on earth, and the Holy Spirit empowers us for joyful service. The Bible instructs us to use our spiritual gifts to build each other up, feed the hungry, shelter the exposed, visit the lonely, care for the vulnerable, proclaim freedom to those in captivity, and carry the gospel of Jesus Christ to the whole world. This is a tall order for any lone person. But we are not called to do all this alone. God calls us to do all this together . . . through the church, the body of Christ. Together we are able to answer God’s call and fulfill God’s commission for God’s people. At Conley's, we are excited about the ways God is working through our members to make a real difference in our world. And we are confident that the Holy Spirit will lead each of us to a ministry of the church where we will be effective and fulfilled as God empowers us to serve.
