Lent & Easter
2026
Wilderness Experiences
The season of Lent leading up to Easter is a season of preparation, and readying ourselves for the celebration of the Resurrection. It is also a time to focus on growing as disciples and extending ourselves outward into our neighborhoods, engaging the community around us in a way that builds meaningful relationships. You are welcome to join us on our Lenten journey.
Prayer is an important part of Lent. We are preparing a prayer for you to use each week in Lent. Please join us in praying them this Lenten season.
Conley's Lenten Devotional
A collection of artwork, testimonies, and reflections from members of our congregation of how God worked in their lives to help them through a difficult experience and helped them find their true selves and God’s purpose. It is through these shared experiences that we as Christians can grow in our own personal faith.
The 2026 Wilderness Experiences Lenten Devotional will be available on this page and printed copies in the Church Narthex during the Lenten season.

Ash Wednesday Service
February 18th at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary
All Are Welcome!
Ash Wednesday is a holy day of prayer, fasting, and repentance. It marks the beginning of Lent, a season of 40 days (excluding Sundays) leading up to Easter Sunday. The name “Ash Wednesday” is derived from the practice of placing ashes on the foreheads of believers in the shape of a cross. The ashes are typically obtained by burning the palms blessed on the previous year’s Palm Sunday.

Palm Sunday Service
March 29th at 10:00am in the Sanctuary
All Are Welcome!
Palm Sunday occurs on the Sunday before Easter. This celebration celebrates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, mentioned in each of the four Gospels. Jesus entered the city knowing He would be tried and crucified and welcomed His fate to rise from the grave and save us from sin! Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the remembrance of Jesus' last days.

Maundy Thursday Service
April 2nd at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary
Maundy Thursday is an alternate name for
Holy Thursday, the first of the three days
of solemn remembrance of the events
leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus. The English word "Maundy" comes from the Latin mandatum, which means "commandment." As recorded in John's gospel, on his last night before his betrayal and arrest, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and then gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them
(John 13:34).
Tenebrae (Good Friday) Service
April 3rd at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary
Conley's commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus with a Tenebrae service.
The story of the suffering and death of Jesus from John’s gospel is divided into 16 readings. After each segment of the story is read, a candle is extinguished. After the fifteenth reading, which confirms that Jesus had died on the cross, the last of the 15 lit candles is extinguished or taken away, and a loud sound (called strepitus in Latin) is made to convey the sense of total loss of God’s presence and the effect of the death of Jesus on the universe. The final story of the burial is read in near darkness. Worshipers leave in silence to ponder the impact of Christ's death and await the celebration of the coming Resurrection.
